Avengers: Endgames directors Joe and Anthony Russo are rallying for Robert Downey Jr to be honoured with an Oscar for his profound performance.

Were with them all the way.

The directing duo spoke out about superhero movies often being overlooked (despite Black Panther scooping up a fair few awards), reasoning that theres a disconnect between the Academy and popular audiences.

However, for Joe Russo, its the Iron Man actors performance that should secure the win for Endgame, which flew past Avatar to become the highest-grossing movie of all time.

Despite acknowledging that they didnt make the movie for awards, Joe pointed out: I just want to stump for one thing, and thats Robert Downey.

The director added to Daily Beast: I dont know if I have ever seen – in movie history – a global audience react to a performance the way they did to Robert Downey in that movie.

There were people bawling in movie theatres, hyperventilating. I mean, that is a profound performance, when you can touch audiences all over the world to that degree. Weve never seen anything like that, and if that doesnt deserve an Oscar, I dont know what does.

Robert, 54, left audiences sobbing when Tony Stark finally met his end after more than a decade in the MCU.

However, it was later revealed that his iconic I am Iron Man line, said before he sacrificed himself to defeat Thanos, wasnt in the original script.

Tony used to not say anything in that moment, the directors explained during a Q&A in Washington DC.

And we were in the editing room going, “He has to say something, this is a character who has lived and died by quips.” And we just couldnt, we tried a million different last lines.

Retirement is going well for Bond then (Picture: MEGA)

Daniel Craig has been left bruised and bloodied on the set of Bond 25, No Time To Die.

Yep, despite retiring to Jamaica at the end of the last film, Spectre, hes definitely no longer living the quiet life.

The James Bond star is currently filming in Matera, a rocky outcrop in southern Italy and has been pictured in the middle of a brutal battle with an opponent that leaves him without a jacket and more than just a little banged up.

Production is steamrolling ahead in the country for the 25th offering of the titular character, this time directed by Cary Fukunaga.

Set pictures from earlier in September showed Craig in the same outfit, and alongside his body double so Bond fans seem to be in store for one heck of an action sequence.

Lea Seydoux has also been pictured on set, with recent pictures showing Craig and Seydoux getting to grips with one another in an intimate scene shot.

The Secret Garden is being made into another film adaptation but this time its more magical and stars Colin Firth.

What more do you need?

As with any reboot, there will be a new spin on the story and just from the trailer, it seems the garden is ridiculously large.

Frances Hodgson Burnett released the classic book in 1911 and there have been a few adaptations along the way.

The last time the book was adapted for the screen was in 1993 and there was a steampunk update in 2017 but we dont think anyone wants to talk about that.

Maggie Smith and Kate Maberley starred in the 1993 adaptation and did a phenomenal job at keeping to the original book.

The young actress will also be in the Game of Thrones prequel (Picture: STUDIOCANAL

Julie Walters
Julie Walters has been in Mamma Mia with Colin Firth (Picture: STUDIOCANAL

However, it seems the new film might be more loosely adapted from the book, as the existence of CGI will be able to make it more exciting for fans, and it has been brought forward to 1947 England, on the eve of Partition in India, and in the aftermath of WW2 in Britain.

The new childrens movie will be introducing a lot of bright young stars who are on the rise.

Dixie Egerickx stars as Mary and she will be joined by Amir Wilson as Dickon and Edan Hayhurst as Colin.

These stars are already doing wonders with acting as Dixie will be appearing in the Game of Thrones sequel and Amir will be seen in the His Dark Material series.

We cant have a ridiculous film being made without some ridiculously celebrated British actors as part of the mix.

Colin Firth (Archibald Crane) and Julie Walters (Mrs Medlock) will be playing the key adult roles, so not to worry, folks, this film will be great.

The Secret Garden hits UK cinemas on 17 April, 2020.

EXCLUSIVE: After winning an MTV Video Music Award for bringing his vision and humor to the video for Lil Nas Xs remix of “Old Town Road” with Billy Ray Cyrus, director Calmatic is looking to celebrate with a party…a House Party to be specific. The music video director will make his feature directorial debut with the forthcoming reimagining of the comedy classic House Party at New Line Cinema.

The remake from SpringHill Entertainment will be cut from the same cloth as the original 1990 comedy directed by Reginald Hudlin and starring Christopher “Kid” Reid and Christopher “Play” Martin of the rap duo Kid N Play (it was also a dance shown in the pic). The movie, which told the story of a house party to end all house parties, was drenched in 90s hip hop flair and featured Martin Lawrence and Tisha Campbell-Martin before they went on to star in the hit Fox TV series Martin.

The movie became a huge success and spawned two sequels: House Party 2 in 1991 and a third installment in 1994. The movie continued to party on with a direct-to-video sequels House Party 4: Down to the Last Minute in 2001, which did not include any of the original cast. The fifth installment House Party: Tonights the Night was released in 2012 and saw the return of Kid N Play to the franchise.
